A successful manager has many desirable qualities. Two attributes that good managers possess are the ability to be proactive and leadership. This blog takes a look at being proactive and at the importance of solid leadership skills.

This is crossover week at the Capitol, which means that bills passed by the House of Delegates now goes to the State Senate to be considered.

Hundreds of 2nd Amendment supporters gathered Saturday at the West Virginia State Capitol to rally against new gun ban laws proposed by President Obama in the wake of last month's school shooting in Connecticut. The rally was part of a grass-roots effort called Guns Across America, and was led by Delegate Joshua Nelson, R-Boone, and others who support the 2nd Amendment.

Perhaps we in West Virginia overlooked the strangle hold that has been tightening for one hundred years. As it has been gradual we remembered it as it was, a comfortable, warm embrace; securely wrapped in the arms of the nations bosom, and then, it became too painful to look beyond.

My family and I spend the evening Saturday before Memorial Day in historic Harper's Ferry. We got there a little late (sun was setting for some of the photos) for what we'd planned (Ghost Hunt), but we decided to make the best of it. Next time, I promise a better write-up and more photos!
